Alabaster's Profile:
Alabaster began in a dirty, empty-beer-can-infested basement just outside Chicago. As time went on, Alabaster, spread like wildfire onto many of the rock stages that local punk bands only dream of gracing. What started as a basement jam session had transformed into an, “in-your-face, must-see sound.”
With a cold winter wind in their face, the band decided to push even further. Like so many other bands, Alabaster was drawn to Seattle. They packed up the u-haul, snagged as many pennies as possible, and ventured out.
The band has endured grungy house parties at the infamous Stash Spot, they’ve played the historic Central Saloon, and Fremont district’s own Tost. The band has destroyed stages with some great local and national acts like Emberghost, A Lesson in Chaos, Lucky for Nothing, the Classic Crime and many more that have been so kind, and so much fun.
2006 brought another turning point for the band. Happy with their progress, the band has opted to take the reigns and make more things happen. Not content playing local shows with limited exposure to the masses who so desperately need to hear this music, the band has begun putting together their first West Coast tour.
The Tour will support their debut EP – Keep Me Close, Keep Me Damaged – which drops on May 16.
